Mary Jo Ybarra-Vega is a former agricultural worker and currently serves as the Outreach/Behavioral Health Coordinator for Quincy Community Health Center in Quincy, Washington. Under her leadership and coordination, the Promotor de Salud Program has received numerous state and national awards for its outreach efforts to migrant farmworkers. She also has been honored and recognized for her innovation in outreach practices, dedication to youth, and lifetime service to her native community of Quincy.

Ms. Ybarra-Vega is a co-founder of the Washington State Community Health Workers/Promotores Network. She is a Master Trainer for the Women’s Health Leadership Institute in Region X and a Master Trainer through Stanford University’s Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. She is passionate about collaborating with and addressing the social justice needs of youth, poor/underserved populations and farmworkers.

Ms. Ybarra-Vega received a BA in clinical psychology from Gonzaga University and an MS in counseling psychology from Central Washington University as a Patricia Harris Fellow. She is licensed in the state of Washington as a mental health counselor. She is a current resident of Wenatchee, Washington and is a proud daughter and wife of immigrants.
